Reliance Industries required a leak-proof lining solution for a raw water storage pond at their Nagothane industrial facility. The pond needed to retain water reliably over the long term with minimal maintenance, while meeting strict environmental containment standards for an industrial site.
ViRaj Engineers specified and installed a Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) system across the pond base and slopes. GCL panels were laid with engineered overlaps, seams were carefully managed, and the installation was carried out under controlled conditions to ensure zero voids or weak points in the liner system.
The pond passed hydraulic testing and has been in continuous operation since installation. The GCL system provided a cost-effective, durable alternative to conventional compacted clay lining, with significantly faster installation time. Reliance's environmental compliance requirements were fully met.
